Indication

Pain (that increases with pressure) and distention in the epigastrium and abdomen, dysenteric disorders or constipation (depending on the degree of obstruction), scanty, dark urine, a red tongue with a greasy or slippery, yellow coating, and a submerged and forceful pulse.

Contraindication

1. This formula is indicated for excess patterns only. It is contraindicated for dysenteric disorders in the absence of qi stagnation.
