Indication

Strong fever and chills without sweating, headache, a generalized sensation of heaviness and tightness, red face and eyes, dry nasal passages, thirst, irritability and insomnia (leading in severe cases to delirium), possible nosebleeds, coughing up blood, or skin blotches, and a rapid, slippery or rapid, flooding pulse.

Contraindication

1. Because this formula is very drying, it should not be used where the absence of sweating is due to deficiency of yin fluids in patients with sigificant deficiency.
