Indication

For heat trapped in the Yin aspects of the body. There may be fever at night and normal temperature in the morning, no perspiration after the fever subsides, and emaciation without loss of appetite. Tongue is red with little coating. Pulse is fine and rapid.

Contraindication

1. Early stages of a warm-febrile disease when the pathogen is in the Qi level
2. Cases with spasms or convulsions.
