This formula is for chest bi which results from lack of movement of chest Yang, leading to internal accumulation of phlegm and failure of qi transformation. The syndrome is marked by pain in the chest which radiates to the upper back, wheezing, cough with copious sputum and shortness of breath. The tongue coat is thick and greasy. The pulse is either submerged and wiry or tight.
