Indication

Chronic dysenteric disorders with dark blood and pus in the stool, abdominal pain that responds favorably to local pressure or warmth, a pale tongue, and a pulse that is slow and frail or faint and thin.

Contraindication

1. This formula is astringent and warming and is therefore contraindicated for dysenteric disorders due to damp-heat.
