This formula is a modification of Yi Gan San (Repress the Liver Powder) originally found during the Song dynasty in Yang Shi-ying's text, Ren Chai Zhi Zhi Fang ('Compassionate & Abstemious Straight Guiding Formulas'). The original formula is indicated for excitability, nervousness, and irritability. Modifications are by Bob Flaws. When modified, this formula can also be seen as a version of Xiao Yao San (Rambling Powder).
