Serotonin is a neurotransmitter useful for proper brain function. It also increases melatonin and endorphin levels. Serotonin deficiency has been implicated in anxiety, depression, food cravings, insomnia, headaches, muscle and joint pain, exhaustion, panic disorders, bulimia, PMS, and hyperactivity.
