  1. Warms the channels and the uterus and stops bleeding: used to treat menorrhagia and prolonged uterine bleeding from deficiency cold. May also be used for nosebleeds or vomiting blood.
  2. Benefits the fetus: used to stabilize the pregnancy when bleeding or cramping threatens a miscarriage.
  3. Warms the channels, dispels cold, and stops pain: used to treat abdominal pain, dysmenorrhea, infertility, and leukorrhea, due to cold in the womb.
  4. Clears dampness and relieves itching: when used as an external wash for eczema and itching.
  5. Reduces phlegm, coughing and wheezing: when used as an essential oil.

  1. Ai Ye calms the fetus by warming. It has no tonifying action and will not address the underlying cause of the cold. Ai Ye is used to make Ai Rong (Moxa).
